EXHIBITIONS
From February 28th 2004, a great project in six exhibitions across several Umbrian
cities to present the most beautiful works of Perugino painter. A special
itinerary recreating
his
artistic
formation.
Perugino the divine painter
National Art Gallery of Umbria – Perugia
Drawings and paintings of the young period of the painter, for instance the precious
Chigi’s altar piece, the polyptych of St. Agostino in Perugia or the Tezi’s
altar piece preserved in Berlin.
A different section of the exhibition explains drawings techniques and artist’s
profile. There are also unpublished news and documents. Fortune and Myth
Exhibition centre “Rocca Paolina” – Perugia
Among the evocative backdrop of the ancient dungeons
of the Paolina fortress there is an accurate selection
of evidences in order to deepen the story of several
work of arts. Most of them are emigrated to France
during the Napoleonic occupation.

Century
St. Peter’s monastery – Perugia
The Benedictine complex of St. Peter in Perugia hosts
a marvellous exhibition dedicated to Umbrian miniature
paintings during Perugino’s period. A beautiful
example is the “Martyr of Saint Sebastian”,
the only Master’s miniature.
. Perugino and the landscape
Palazzo della Corgna – Città della Pieve
An accurate selection of works develops the theme “Perugino
and the landscape”. This exhibition allow the
visitor to understand the progressive transformation
on representing the landscape in Perugino’s paintings.
. Umbrian ceramics at the time of Perugino
Deruta
The exhibition collects precious Umbrian ceramics of
XV and XVI century, showing the highest technical level
reached by Umbrian production.
